Finished in BL's Bracken colour.

Early 10" wheel GT with standard 'S' brake discs, close ratio remote-change gearbox with low final-drive ratio (very quick off the mark, but noisy at motorway speeds!).
This GT has the optional heated rear screen fitted.

Engine bay

The car runs a 1293cc (+0.020" overbore) fully balanced engine.

I bought the car after it had been bodily renovated and returned to its original colour during 1999/2000. After Waxoyling throughout I have continued mechanical refurbishment, and have returned many of the GT's unique features to original specification, including a full body stripe kit, full replacement interior, steering wheel and badge, exterior GT badging etc. I fitted a new brake servo, all new brake pipes and seals, new master cylinder and pads & shoes. A four core high capacity radiator, with a new water pump, was fitted to help keep things cool, and new ignition electrics were fitted for reliability. The car is regularly serviced.

The car is very original except for the following modifications made to ease every-day use:
  • Stage 1 performance kit, consisting of:
    • K&N replacement air filter
    • alloy inlet manifold
    • LCB exhaust manifold
    • RC40 exhaust
  • Halogen headlamp conversion
  • Converted from dynamo to alternator
  • Converted to dry (rubber cone type) suspension
  • Spin-on type oil filter head
  • Aeroquip type steel braided brake hoses all round
  • EBC Greenstuff kevlar front brake pads
  • Mintex rear shoes
  • Polyurethane front suspension bushes
